My friend Adam Rentschler recently used a blog post on substitutes to tell me about the end game of his latest tech startup, Phiar.  I thought it was one of the most insightful, rich, and honest narratives on the topic I've ever read.

Sometimes the toughest thing is getting people to switch to your product/service over and above convenient alternatives that have stood the test of time.  You can't just be incrementally better.

And sometimes, the best move for all involved is actually to shut the doors & stop wasting investor dollars.

It's a great read… enjoy.
